Box Score

WEST CHESTER, Pa. – No. 4 West Chester tied an NCAA record with 30 goals in a 30-1 win over visiting Slippery Rock in a PSAC women’s lacrosse match on a sun-splashed Thursday afternoon at South Campus’ Turf Field.

West Chester (10-1, 8-0 PSAC) remained perfect in league play and upped its winning streak to 10 straight since dropping the season opener. Slippery Rock (0-12, 0-10) is still in search of its first win of the year.

Jill Morris scored West Chester’s 30th goal of the game with 3:08 remaining to pull the Golden Rams even with Shippensburg’s 30 goals scored against Pfeiffer in 1999. Morris tallied each of West Chester’s final two goals in the win.

Tewaaraton Award Watch List candidate Stephanie Kienle led all point-getters with eight. She scored once and picked up seven assists. Jackie Baker scored three goals and assisted on four others. Shannon Hayes and Brittany Moore each scored three goals and recorded three assists.

Devon Lotkowski scored five times for West Chester, four coming in the second half, to lead all goal scorers on the afternoon. Courtney Whiting had three goals and two assists for a five-point afternoon. Claire Grimwood scored twice and picked up one assist.

Caitlin O’Brien ruined the Golden Rams’ shutout bid in the first half with 4:58 remaining when she made a nice individual effort to beat West Chester goalkeeper Mary Beth Green.

Green did not make a save in 30 minutes of action, but did pick up her 10th win of the year. Aly Livelsberger played the second half and stopped the only shot she faced.

Ashley Winklespecht started in the cage for Slippery Rock and made six saves while allowing 19 goals in the first half. Sara Williams relieved Winklespecht in the second half and made eight saves while allowing 11 goals.

Also scoring for the Rams was Gabrielle Stitz, Jen Forney, Jackie Hoover, Liz Ferraro and Julia Walsh. Paige Oliver, Jenny Ingram and Kelsey McGoldrick each notched one assist. Forney added four ground balls and five draw controls to her statistics on the afternoon.
